4 Days In Disneyland Paris!

If you’ve been following along on our journey, you know we spent the last three weeks in Amsterdam, took an incredible Tulip Time River Cruise with Gate 1 Travel, and wrapped up the tour package with a few days in Paris.

 

 

However, we decided to tack on just a few more days to explore Disneyland Paris!

 

Random Weird Stuff:

Chuck visited EuroDisney, the predecessor to Disneyland Paris, the year it opened in 1992, before we met. It was an interesting trip that warranted creating new memories.

 

Getting to Disneyland Paris

Realistically, we could have taken a train from Paris directly to Disneyland Paris. The station at Disneyland Paris is just a short walk from the Disneyland Hotel, where we were staying.

However, it would have required us to drag luggage a block or so to the Montparnasse train station, take that train about eight stops into Paris, change trains, then take that to the station and walk to our hotel. Taking about an hour and ten minutes in total.

We were coming off nearly three weeks of travel, and let’s be honest, we’re over 65, and splurging to hire a private driver was worth the expense.

So, after a delicious breakfast at the hotel, our driver picked us up at 8:00 AM. Not only was he on time, but he was early!

 

Airport Taxi Transfers

Chuck booked us a sedan for about €83, and we were picked up in front of the hotel and dropped off at the drive-up to the Disneyland Paris Hotel. 

Airport Taxi Transfers did an awesome job. The driver was professional, the car was immaculate, we got to chill and look out the windows at the countryside, and didn’t have to schlep any luggage!

 

Two Disney Geeks

Let’s start with the backstory. 

Chuck first visited Walt Disney World in 1974 with his family. Mark’s first trip was in 1979 on his Senior High School trip. Both of us had multiple visits before meeting, and then TONS after meeting.

We’ve visited Disneyland, attended Gay Days at WDW a bunch of times, had Disney Vacation Club memberships, had a Disney room in several of our houses, lived close enough to WDW that we could be at Animal Kingdom in fifteen minutes, and Mark did a short stint working for WDW!

So, yes, we’re Disney geeks, and this visit was a must-do.

 

 

A Little About Disneyland Paris Parks

Euro Disney was rebranded as Disneyland Paris in 1994. There are two parks, Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World.

Disneyland Park reminds us of Magic Kingdom with a ton of classic Magic Kingdom attractions. 

Disney Adventure World is kind of like Disney’s Hollywood Studios with World Premiere Plaza, Marvel Adventures Campus, and World of Pixar. At the time we visited, much of the World Premiere Plaza was under renovation, and they were in the process of creating World of Frozen and Adventure Way.

But there was PLENTY to do!

And they also have Disney Village; it’s very similar to WDW’s Disney Springs, which has shopping and dining.

 

Hotels at Disneyland Paris

Much like other Disney Parks, Disneyland Paris has multiple Disney Hotels. 

We knew from the very beginning we wanted to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Not only were we ready for some pampering, but we knew we could walk directly out of the hotel and into Disneyland Park- we kid you not, it was just outside our door.

The other hotels are spread out around the property and offer various price points and themes, with styling very similar to that of many well-known properties at other Disney Resorts.

Staying on property gives you Extra Magic Hours and access to both parks, so we were able to play in the parks, take a midday break, chill out in our room, and close the parks practically every night.
