Leaving our hotel, we headed out of Glencoe, taking the iconic road that James Bond traveled in this Aston Martin DB5.
The Three Sisters of Glencoe
The mountains highlighted in the movie Skyfall are frequently referred to as the Three Sisters of Glencoe. As magical as they are, they are so much more spectacular in person!
How many of you actually sang “Sky Fall!” When you read it? We know we did, and so did most of our tour group.Â
Amazing Grace
Arriving at the Three Sisters of Glencoe viewing area at eight in the morning, it was a bit chilly and a little foggy.
We were amazed to encounter a bagpiper standing at the edge of the parking lots. Hearing “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes is incredible at any time. But with this backdrop, it made our day!

A Spectacular Drive
The views all along the A82 offered magical backdrops as we drove on to our next destination.
Loch Lomond
After our morning drive, we took a little break and did a short cruise on Loch Lomond. The loch is part of the Trossachs National Park.
The loch is the largest lake in Great Britain by surface area. It is over 22 miles in length, and its width ranges between half a mile and five miles.
It was a nice break, with beautiful scenery.
The loch also crosses the fault line between the Scottish Lowlands and the Highlands. However, if you’ve heard of Loch Lomond, it’s likely because of the Scottish folksong with a chorus that says:
O ye’ll tak’ the high road, and I’ll tak’ the low road,
And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.
Travel Tip:
A majority of the photos, except for the bagpiper and sailing on Loch Lomond, were taken through the bus window while the bus was in motion. Our advice is to get your lens flush with the window and keep SNAPPING! We think we got some very memorable photos.
Heading to Glasgow
From here, we headed off to our final destination. And quite honestly, one that surprised us – Glasgow.
This blog was fast and furious, as it truly captured a wonderful day, beautiful weather, and incredible scenery.
We’re nearing the end of our journey, and the upcoming blogs are packed with sightseeing, incredible food, and possibly one of our favorite hotels of the trip.
