Our short stay in Jodhpur was filled with a visit to Jaswant Thada, followed by a full afternoon at the fantastic Mehrangarh Fort.
At the end of our day, we retired to the Ranbanka Palace Hotel for dinner with our traveling companions and a good night’s sleep before heading off to the lake city of Udaipur.
Ranbanka Palace Hotel
Landmark, Near Circuit House Road
Jodhpur, INDIA 342011
Built in 1927 for Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh Ji, this was a part of India’s first heritage hotel and is Jodhpur’s premier ‘Classic Heritage Hotel’ filled with colonial influences.
Jodhana Courtyard
We gathered in a central courtyard for a candlelight dinner with our travel companions. We enjoyed a huge buffet dinner, local beer, and local musicians playing in the background.

Again, another hotel where we wished we had been able to spend more time. The swimming pool looked so refreshing, and there were several restaurants and lounges to explore.

Colonial Furnishings
Truth be told, a hot shower and comfortable bed were about all we needed after a long day exploring and a fabulous dinner.
The rooms are listed as having colonial furnishings, and granted we were not staying in some of the suites we saw images of online. But these were a bit understated- a bed, two nightstands, and a dresser.

But we were right off the courtyard, and it was easy to access from dinner and for breakfast before heading out.
However, the bathroom was awesome! It was big enough to park our SUV in and completely covered in marble with vintage fixtures, a huge shower, and plenty of hot water.

Needless to say, after a great dinner, a long hot shower, and a comfy bed, we crashed!
Be sure to check out the hotel’s Instagram page to see some of the suites and their incredible food.
