If you have been following along on our Instagram page (@MarkAndChucksAdventures) you’ll see that we did a little “staycation” and spent the week at the beach.
Last year Chuck attended a local Tampa charity event with friends of ours, and they all bid on an auction item, a week on Anna Maria Island.
Anna Maria Island is a beautiful, sleepy little town, about an hour south of our home in St Petersburg, Florida, just off the coast of Sarasota. The barrier island sits between Tampa Bay, Anna Maria Sound and the Gulf of Mexico.
The auction prize included a one week rental home. We stayed in a three-bedroom, three-bath duplex with a private swimming pool, about a block and a half from the gulf beaches.
This vacation was something new and unique for Chuck and me as most of you know we are on the move when we travel. In most cases we are flying hours upon hours, changing hotels and cities every few days, packed with a lot of adventures.
This week we had nothing planned, pool time, relaxation, some beach time, dinners at the house, dinners out at local restaurants, and nothing else. Even those things were not scripted, we all decided what we wanted to do on the fly.
We’ll share a few blogs with information on Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and Anna Marie, the three cities that make up Anna Maria Island; as well as local beaches, attractions, and restaurants.
We hope you enjoy our Staycation as much as we did.
