Chuck and I filled the beginning of 2019 with a long-overdue Southern Caribbean Cruise with our friends Michael and Francesca, from Philadelphia, and Chuck’s BIG bucket list item, a trip to Kenya.
For the rest of the year we are chilling, staying close to home. We are exploring the areas around our home of St Petersburg. Then we are heading a little south to Anna Maria Island, and later heading over to Miami and down to The Keys.
We are lucky enough to live where people come to play.
St Petersburg has fantastic local beaches, a vibrant local restaurant scene that is continuing to grow, and an amazing craft beer community.
To the north, we have Clearwater, and Tarpon Springs and to our south, all that the Sarasota area has to offer.
Over the next few months, we’ll be exploring local museums, great restaurants, and unique attractions. We know that too many things here are taken for granted and there are people who travel thousands of miles to explore them.
One of the things that St Petersburg has become known for is our to impressive murals and artists.
A large number of the city’s murals are located in a central corridor the encompasses the Waterfront Arts District on the east and running west up Central Avenue through the Central Arts and Grand Central Districts. The up and coming Edge District and Warehouse Arts District are growing the arts community day by day.
The incredible mural artists’ works come in every size shape, color, and style. Murals are found on the walls of restaurants, parking lots and in back alleys behind bars, clubs and stores.
{Statue of Liberty is by incredible Latin Pop Artist John Gascot, who has been a friend of mine for over 30 years! XOXO}

The amazing mural art has spilled over onto back gates, trach dumpsters and electrical boxes on street corners.

{We’ve identified mural artists wherever possible, for more information on St Petersburg murals, artists and locations visit St Pete Mural Tours}
And the artwork doesn’t stop there St Pete’s Morean Arts Center, Morean Glass Center, the Chihuly Collection and Florida CraftArt Gallery anchor dozens of galleries showcasing the work of local artists.
Our beautiful weather, sunshine and vibrant community are just the start of our St Petersburg and Tampa / Sarasota Bay draw.
Come check out Florida’s west coast!
