55+ Travel and Food Bloggers Who Refuse to Grow Up

The Giraffe Centre

The Giraffe Centre is a non profit organization whose main purpose is to educate a Kenyan school children and youth about the countries wildlife and environment. In addition to the giraffes they have a family of wart hogs. The ultimate goal is to rehabilitate them so they can be released back into the wild.

It was a fun place to visit and you really don’t need more than an hour. If you would like to know more about this organization, here is a link to their website.

One thing about wart hogs is that they are not able to reach the ground with their mouth because of the shape and size of their head, so they kneel down on their front legs to get the food. They really enjoyed the food that the visitors dropped while feeding the giraffes.

This hotel also backs up to the infamous Giraffe Manor. The giraffes have fallen into a routine, they know exactly what time to head over for breakfast and need no encouragement.

While at the center you get to learn about the Rothschild and feed them. If you are real adventurous you can French kiss one. Nothing better than a big wet kiss from an 18 inch tongue.
