If you know us, you know we love to travel; actually, we work to travel. We have both said many times that we are blessed to be able to explore the world.
This year we are headed to China!

We had such a great experience with Gate 1 Travel in Thailand that we knew we wanted to explore with them again. However, we usually travel for Chuck’s birthday but Thailand was really hot and humid in August, and we knew China would be no better, so we picked a different time to go.
One of the essential prerequisites for us is always the exploration. We do not want to be in one place too long, and we want to see as much as we can in the time we have.
This trip gives us a chance to explore and see a lot of the history of China. We will be spending three nights Beijing, two nights Xian, three nights Chengdu as well as a three-night cruise downstream on the Yangtze River, wrapping up with two nights Shanghai.
We will have the opportunity to explore the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, The Great Wall, Terracotta Army, Chengdu Panda Research Center as well as other sites we will see during the cruise. Every part of the 15-day journey has something unusual in store.
We are also foodies, so sampling the food in China will be a top priority in our free time. Time to experience the strange and exotic. Deep fried scorpions…..yum.
During our trip to Thailand, we found that Gate 1 had selected excellent hotels, all of the dining included fantastic authentic foods, and the tours showed us the country, history, and the local customs. We are expecting nothing less on this journey to China.
We will both be sharing more as we get closer and hopefully from our trip as it unfolds. We promise to take you all on this remarkable journey with us.
Best,
Chuck & Mark
