Dinner at Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille

Posted on February 19, 2022 by Mark And Chuck's Adventures

We rarely make a big deal over our anniversary dinner. The truth is, we’re typically traveling somewhere and having a low-key dinner. We met on October 28, 2002, on a blind date. For our first date chose to meet at a Korean BBQ in Philadelphia’s Italian Market. We knew that dinner would be interactive, and…

Exploring St Augustine, Florida

Posted on February 13, 2022 by Mark And Chuck's Adventures

Since we moved to Florida a decade ago, exploring historic St Augustine has been on our ‘we should do this’ list. We had heard great things about this old city and its history. And much like nearly everyone else, we knew St Augustine and Fountain of Youth! So, we added it to our Southern Road…

There were ZERO chances that we would not make it to Rodney Scott’s restaurant when visiting Charleston on our Southern Road Trip. Rodney Scott is a name we’ve heard a lot over the last few years. Since he was eleven, he’s been doing Whole Hog BBQ in South Carolina. If you’ve seen any cooking shows…

Unique Southern Cooking in Charleston

Posted on January 25, 2022January 25, 2022 by Mark And Chuck's Adventures

‘Southern Cooking’ takes on a lot of personalities when you break things down. We did our best to eat as much low country cooking and barbecue as possible on this trip. We especially like great food in unexpected places or traditional foods with a unique twist. In general, Charleston seemed to have some of the…

Why We Visited Magnolia Plantation

Posted on January 12, 2022January 12, 2022 by Mark And Chuck's Adventures

Let us start by saying that the decision to visit a plantation as part of our Southern Road Trip was not made lightly. We did not want to visit a place that did not acknowledge the history that played out there. While researching plantations in Charleston, Chuck found a man named Joseph McGill, a black…

On our way from Xochimilco back toward Chapultepec On our way from Xochimilco back toward Chapultepec Park and our next destination, we stopped for lunch at Centenario 107.

It was a cute little restaurant with a brick Pizza oven and some great food. Options for the group lunch were Flank Steak Tacos, Chicken Enchiladas, or this AMAZING Portobello Burger.

The sandwich had a Grilled Portobello Mushroom, Queso Panela, Tomato, Bell Peppers, Onion, and Arugula on an incredible homemade Nut Bread Bun. It was served with a side of Roasted Jalapeños and crispy Veggie Chips.

Everything had rave reviews! Definitely on our list for a return trip to CDMX, as it's also right around the corner from the Frida Kahlo Museum!

We loved the A La Parilla restaurant. Most mornings it was where we had our breakfast. The buffet was amazing with lots of options.

We also met up with some friends for our tour for a Super Bowl Party, and they celebrated Mark’s birthday too.

We had a little nibble with our cocktails too.

The Duck Egg Rolls were incredible. They were packed with plenty of moist flavorful Duck meat. And They Thai Lamb Skewers were out of this world. Made with ground Lamb they packed the meat with flavor and the Spicy Peanut Sauce complimented it really well.

We began our trip across Central and South Eastern Mexico in Mexico City.

Mark contacted his good friend and fellow Master Wedding Planner, Camelu, to meet for dinner. A Mexico City native, she and her husband were the perfect hosts.

Since we can not find good Indian food in Merida, they were kind enough to take us to dinner and an incredible Indian restaurant in Polanco. Indian Paradise was fantastic.

We shared some Vegetable Pakora, Vegetable Samosa, Mutton Rogan Josh, Palak Paneer (Chuck’s favorite), Chicken Vindaloo, Aloo Gobi, and lots of delicious Naan.

Everything was as tasty and well prepared as any we’ve had anywhere in the world, including India!
