If you have followed our travels on Mark and Chuck’s Adventures for more than a minute, you know how much we LOVE street food.

Anywhere we travel we look for street food tours and wander on our own.  A considerable portion of our travel research when we pick a destination is following our favorite YouTube vloggers to see what and where they eat in places we are headed.

While our home city of St Petersburg isn’t a street food mecca, we do have some awesome Tampa Bay food trucks, a Saturday Market with excellent food vendors and Hawkers.

Hawkers is smallish (and rapidly growing) restaurant group featuring fresh, scratch-made street food inspired by the travels of its owners throughout Asia. Think Asian tapas – small plates packed with big flavor.

The original Hawkers is located in the Mills 50 district of Orlando, the St Petersburg location is in our Edge District known for its vibrant nightlife, great restaurants and breweries, and exciting public art. It’s just a stone’s throw from home, lucky for us.

They have an ever-changing collection of local craft beers, but I’m partial to their Thai Iced Tea. It’s a great blend of a rich reddish tea with sweetened condensed milk.

I’m pretty sure we have eaten our way across most of the menu. From delicious dumplings to exotic curries, soups, and noodle dishes. Everything is a small plate presentation where you can taste multiple dishes from across Asia in one meal or share lots of fun dishes with friends.

One thing of note: because of the style of food, intended for sharing, food comes out in random order as its ready. Don’t go in expecting the food to come out in uniform courses. Just sit back nibble and enjoy.

Some of our favorites include the Korean Twice Fried Wings with garlic Gochujang sauce, peanuts, sesame and cilantro, and the Roti Canai a Malaysian flatbread with curry sauce.
