For those who do not know us well, we both love to travel, and we both LOVE food. We usually plan our vacations about 18 months out, gives us some time to research things to do. Blending a mix of culture and food.
This trip was originally a cruise out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the southern Caribbean, visiting several islands we have not been to on previous cruises. But Mark knows me well, nothing is every set until we either get on the plane or on the ship. Last year’s cruise was canceled for a trip to Amsterdam, so Mark was just waiting for me to change things up again this year.
So, of course, he comes home from work right after the new year and hears me say… What do you think of Thailand instead of the cruise? Needless to say, no arm twisting was needed. The cruise was canceled, and Thailand was booked. And this trip is actually costing us less than the cruise. So it’s a win-win for us.
Since we do not have the time to see all of Thailand, we opted for Central Thailand and ruled out southern. We live in Florida, so beaches and sunshine we can get every day. We decided to focus on culture instead. Plus, its rainy season, the last thing we need is a typhoon or tsunami.
The map above is where our journey will take us. We will update our adventure as we go and hope you enjoy reading it as much as I know we will enjoy experiencing it.
